Takeaways from Session “ENERGY”

  • Suggestion on strengthening the department faculty by inclusion of Energy Policy from a science and engineering perspective

  • Expand research on Energy Storage beyond batteries. Proposal on Future discussion and collaboration on energy storage with Mr. Shankar Ramamurthy (Panelist)

  • Energy-Water-Food Nexus; further discussion with Prof. Ardeshir Contractor (Iowa state university) on bringing potential industries on board for engaging with Energy research

  • Similar energy issues in India and the state of California towards electric vehicles and EV chargers. Further discussion to happen with Prof. Arun Majumdar (Stanford University)

  • Suggestion on starting a living laboratory concept at IITB

  • Invitation to participate in a workshop/symposium to be organized by the Energy forum/club at Stanford University

  • DESE to take leadership role on energy at IITB, state and the country

  • Strong suggestion on involving appropriate stake holders. Energy is a large-scale issue. Giga scale issues to be addressed by giga scale industries; for e.g., involve oil and gas industries

  • Energy to have a critical and exciting time with game changers in the field (for e.g., shale oil and gas hydrates).
